"Bill" the Animatronic Deer
1/2
A few years ago, we worked with the state fish and wildlife wardens to help the state Department of Fish and Wildlife catch illegal poachers by constructing animatronic deer. In order to make the deer as lifelike as possible, we worked with a local taxidermist. After delivery, we continued work on a second animatronic deer for the state, creating a more articulated and life-like appearance.

We repair the deer when they get shot, and this project is ongoing as repairs are needed often. On its last outing, our deer caught 13 poachers before it was brought back in for repairs. The project gave us an opportunity to help protect our ecosystem by creating an innovative design and then improving on that design in an ongoing project.
