FTC 2023-24
FIRST Tech Challenge is a learning opportunity designed for youths grades 9-12. With a new challenge every year, students must design, build, program robots to compete with and against other teams.

In 2022, for the first time, we had wonderful problem of having too many students for our FTC team. So, we started another. That went so well and we added so many more team members that we added a third team in 2023. Team members are divided between our FTC teams, but they still work together as a group to build their skills.

2023 also is the first year that we got to host events! The Knuth League's 16 teams from Anacortes, Arlington, Chimicum, Everett, Mt. Vernon, Oak Harbor, Port Townsend, and Snohomish took to the field in November and December at Oak Harbor High School for their
Center Stage
The FTC game for 2023-24 was Center Stage. In this game, teams must build a robot that can drive around a small field, avoiding 3 other robots and bars less than two feet above the field, to collect game tokens and placed them on a board. At the end of the game, robots score more points if they can lift themselves completely off the field using one of the bars. And, they get to shoot a paper airplane, which is always fun.

After two league competitions and one interleague competition, team 24252 earned 4th place during the qualifying matches, captained the third-seeded playoff alliance, which reached the final series, won the Motivate Award, and became our first FTC team to qualify for the State Championships.
